About DIY Printing
Located just inside local artist hub Essex Art Studios in Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, DIY Printing is a full-service screen printing shop and art studio. Our goal at DIY Printing is to enrich the lives of artists by providing an open printing studio that supports and encourages the work of artists. DIY provides awareness, outreach and education for the community. Check out our Facebook page to see our latest events.
We are an artist co-op that provides a silk screen studio for use by artists in the community. We not only cater to artists, we also print commercially to pay our bills. We want to support our tight knit community in as many ways as possible. We print T-shirts, posters, bags, promote the use of recycled packaging and creative design, and provide classes in collaboration with the Art Academy of Cincinnati for adults and teens who want to learn about screen printing. |

CLASSESSCREEN PRINTING 101:
RETURNS IN 2024 SEE CALENDAR Time: 6:00pm - 9:00pm Want to learn to screen print? Screen printing 101 teaches a basic screen printing technique which uses a 230 mesh aluminum screen to print ink onto paper, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a stencil created with emulsion. Over the four weeks, students will create their own unique design, and learn to burn the image onto a screen in preparation for printing. Students will then print a 2-3 color screen print by learning how to layer different colors of ink and using the technique of registration to get clean lines and clean prints. |
